Just a week ago, my first teams' artists graduated.  I miss spending time around these teams, they were all such interesting people.  There was always something new.  They named their studio Three Way Tie, originally in reference to the fact that the three teams were exactly the same size.  Coincidentally, we ended up asking each team to make the 2.5d sidescrolling game they pitched, and the studio name became more in reference to the style of game than team size.  We ended up with 10 artists, split 3, 3, and 4 to their teams.

I found myself closest to one team, which we had to keep a particularly close eye on after their producers failed.  The team worked so hard in that last month, when teams usually lose momentum, their game turned out so much better.  I'm very proud of Team N Squared for producing Operation B.L.A.S.T.  http://gameproject.fullsail.com/gpgames/index.php/2011/08/operation-b-l-a-s-t/

Team Appropriate Pineapple struggled at the beginning to form the art style they wanted.  I'm so impressed by the style they managed to came up with and all the little details they worked so hard to finish.  I enjoy playing Schlep's Labyrinth to find new things I hadn't seen before.  http://gameproject.fullsail.com/gpgames/index.php/2011/08/schleps-labyrinth/

This last team made me feel welcomed all the time.  They always seemed happy whenever they saw me, waving excitedly and saying Hi.  I only wish I could have convinced them to not use so much photo-reference in their textures.  Team Red Marker I learned the most from leading, the makers of The Lost Temple of Enki.  http://gameproject.fullsail.com/gpgames/index.php/2011/08/lost-temple-of-enki/

My new teams have called their studio From the Ashes (unfortunately because there are many who have had to start Final Project over).  I hope they have all learned from their previous experience, and they are all given a clean slate to start with.  I have only two teams this time, but I actually have more artists. There are 13 split to 6 and 7.

We have Team Paradux, who pitched a stealth adventure game called Rite of Passage.  It involves a tribal boy who has to retrieve an artifact from a temple full of traps and animated skeletons to confirm his entry to manhood.  We have Team Short Fuse, who pitched a game they call Pirates vs. Pirates.  This is a defence game where you defend your ship and your captain from other pirates who are trying to stop you from getting to the island of treasure.  I'm very excited to see how these games evolve over the next few months.
